Follow the yellow brick road

This costume idea has been semi-planned for a long time.  Andrew and Izzy were Dorothy and the Lion way back when.  This year was the perfect year for Alex to fit the dress.  And this was the year we read "The Wizard of Oz" as a family.  So this had to be the year we dressed up as the Wizard of Oz.  

Some random things we learned this year:

1. Don't try to take pictures on the crazy night of Halloween unless you get ready WAY before the Trunk or Treat starts.  (I made everyone get redressed up the day after because the photo op the night before was a bit crazy.)

2. Trunk or Treat would be best done on any other day than Oct.31.--We want to go trick-or-treating.

3. The bonus of having Trunk or Treat on the same night was a whole lot less candy--maybe that's not a bad way to go after all.

4.  Hairspray paint isn't as exciting as the sound of it.  But now we won't have Izzy asking when she's allowed to dye her hair anymore.  She hated having to wash the black off her hands almost constantly and it didn't even last the day.  (We sprayed in the morning). She took a shower to wash it out before the night even began.

5.  Costumes look just as good without the face paint--especially when the face being painted itches all night long and all you do it scratch and smear or wipe off.
