Deep thoughts by Andrew

(Click on comics to enlarge)
Before we had kids (or maybe before they could talk and ask questions), Glen would comment on how much he always enjoyed the dad from Calvin and Hobbes and the funny answers he would give and how he looked forward to being a dad like that. Today in the car, Andrew was full of deep questions and I was wishing you were here and wondered what kinds of answers you would've had fun giving.=) I answered them like a mom would answer, but how would Calvin's dad have answered these questions?

1. Why are there road signs?
2. Why do streets have names?
3. Why do things have names? (for ex. bed, chair, car, etc.)
4. Why do people have names?
5. How are people blind?
6. What if someone can't talk?
7. Why do people wear clothes?
8. Why do people have private parts? Anyone else want to answer #7 and #8 for me?=) Bah! I'm not ready for that talk with him yet.=)
9. What are clothes made out of?
10. Why are some people bad? (This followed the topic after talking about Adam and Eve... I'm still not sure how the topic got there, but it got off the birds and the bees subject.=)
11. What is wood made out of?
12. What are computers made out of?

Great post, Honey! What's wood made out of? That's hilarious! The comics were good, too. They made me laugh. =)

that was so funny! I haven't read that comic in a while...I can totally see Glen being that kind of dad!

I sure hope I'm a far way off from any birds and bees talks. Maddy loves to ask why about everything though and even when I do answer her she continues to ask the same thing! I've learned to just smile and say, "because I love you Maddy." works every time!
