It's a small world

The past few days have been LONG days.  We've been driving around, getting to know the different areas and narrowing down our house options.  There's a lot of houses out here for sale and it's tricky trying to decide on the best place to stay.  Today we were able to see the inside of 3 of the houses and are debating between 2 of them.  One of the deciding factors would be the ward we attend so tonight being Wed. night, we figured someone must be at the church for youth activities so we drove on over.  Lots of friendly people.  Found out there are a few home schooling families in this ward and the other ward we're looking at so that's exciting.  Then we were driving around checking on the community pool and randomly drove down a side street.  There was a gal running.  Recognizing the AF workout uniform, Glen said, "She's Air Force."  Her kids were running and riding bikes ahead of her and as kids sometimes do, one wasn't staying as close to the side so of course I'm driving slow and making sure I don't hit an unintended speed bump.  As we're driving by, she looked really familiar but I drove a little ways before deciding to turn around to see if it was really her.  On our way back, she had pulled off to the side with her girls and was unloading the stroller so it was hard to see her face.  Gutsily I got out and said her name out loud.  Echo?  Crazy!  It really was her.  She was in our ward at Nellis and I vaguely remembered she moved to Texas but why we randomly drove down a small street in this huge city, randomly saw an Air Force jogger, and it turned out to be her?  I'm still in shock.  We all got out and the kids had so much fun playing.  She invited us in and we visited for a long while.  It was a fun evening to break up the tight quarters we've been living and driving in.  It's crazy what a small world it is.

What a great story! That has happened to us a couple of times. It's one of the wonderful things about the military, and the LDS community. Paths ALWAYS cross in some way or in third party. (like living on the same street of a relative of a past military friend). I love how that happens, it makes moving an even more adventure in my opinion. You never know when you will link up with someone from the past. And it's always unexpected. Cool story. It's so random, and yet you wonder if it really is?

I remember Echo, how is she doing? Its such a small world, especially with you are LDS and military the world gets even smaller. Rebecca Gebs from our ward and I grew up together in a way. I grew up and was great friends with her cousin so therefor we hung out together, went to the same high school and church dances and then they move here to our ward. Its crazy how that all works out. Good luck on finding the right house.
