Found a house ...

We have found the PERFECT house. Both Glen and I have different stories as to how we "know" that this is the right place, but we both got that strong confirmation that this is definitely in Heavenly Father's plan and we are where we are supposed to be ... and we LOVE it.=) We found this house through a realtor I randomly called up and asked about houses. Glen fell in love with the character of it instantly and I was in love with the trees and the shade. To make a long story short, this was the first house we saw but it was suggested that we look around to see what other options there were. After 3 long days of looking, we got back to TLF (our on base hotel kitchenette suite) and had just started a movie for the kids. That's when the phone rang for us to see if we'd like to take a look at another house. If I hadn't been on my knees pleading for an answer to my prayers at that very moment, I would've said no way, I am not looking at any more houses today! But since I'd just asked Heavenly Father for a sign we went. Driving through the neighborhood was sign #1 that this house was a no-no. Right across the street from the high school is not my ideal place to live.=) The outside of the house wasn't too bad but walking inside, NOPE. It was a 30+ yr old house like the 1st one, but definitely not as well cared for (and STINKY!!). After getting back in the car, we weren't too far from house #1 so I suggested Glen call (yes, we finally got cell phones) to see if we could get a 2nd look at house #1. Amazingly the lady said she'd be right over. While waiting in the driveway, gutsy Glen knocked on a neighbor's door to ask more about the neighborhood while I waited with Calvin on the front lawn. I wish I could describe the feeling of assurance I had that this was the place, but the best way I can describe it is that it felt like I was home. The neighbor was very friendly and said the neighborhood is quiet and safe. Ann (the lady showing the house) let us in and we walked through the house again. It was amazing how much better the house looked after seeing all the others. Only one other house out of the 10 or so we looked at compared to the beauty of this place, which made us appreciate it all the more. After the walkthrough, we were ready to get the house. The real estate agent wanted to know when we'd like to move in and when Glen mentioned we were going to have to move out of TLF the next day just for the night (crazy story there) she indicated she'd be able to get us into the house after we checked out. Glen went to her office that night and took care of the paperwork. Friday morning we checked out of temporary housing and moved into our house. On base they have what they call the loan closet. We were able to check out dishes, a card table with chairs, a highchair, etc. Enough to hold us over til our stuff came. Glen made a call to the moving company and they could either deliver it on Mon. or Fri. Only three days away sounded great. Sunday we went to our new ward. Only one nursery, yay. We came from a ward with four. A gal offered to watch our kids when the movers came. We've been sooooo blessed!

Here're a few pictures of the house. I have to say that these pictures don't do it justice.

Front Room
Another view of the front room from the opposite wall.
Living room from the kitchen. Izzy had two requirements for a new house. She wanted a fireplace and she wanted stairs. We only got one of the 2 from her list, but she's doing o.k. with it.=)

This is the girls' room. They have these fun windows. There are some in the master bedroom as well. Lots of arches in this house.
Another side of the girls' room. This show there's lots of woodwork throughout the whole house. The girls' room and the master bedroom and bathroom, have these built in dresser drawers and cupboards. Adds lots more character to the place (and much needed storage spaces.)
Aren't boxes the best part of moving?=) The kids wanted to make a bus.

And Calvin just likes to be outside.
