One of the bonuses of the virtual academy we're involved in are the funds for pretty much any kind of class we're interested in. This semester the kids are taking gymnastics, a drawing class, a 5 week ice skating class and Andrew has started piano lessons. I'm feeling a bit busy chauffeuring to so many activities, (well piano lessons have been a blessing traveling to us) but it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. We'll see how much we keep up with when this new baby comes but for now, we're getting as much out of it as we can. Make sure to scroll down for videos of Izzy's ice skating.
The ice skating class they took was a mom and tot/homeschooling class. Since I wasn't getting out on the ice (not only do I have this pregnant belly, but someone's gotta watch the 2 little ones on the sidelines), Glen got to skate with the kids their first lesson and then grandpa got to join for their 3rd lesson. It was awesome and the price was amazing. They were both scared at first, but Andrew caught on quickly and loved it.
Izzy on the other hand waited til the 3rd session to have any fun. The first class she had amazing balance, but could hardly move anywhere and would get so frustrated when she fell. The 2nd class she stopped 20 mins. before it was over and came and laid on the seats until class was over. The 3rd class, she didn't want to go but my parents were in town and my dad convinced her that she could show him how well she was doing. That was enough to get her to go for that day but she made sure to say she wouldn't be going again. She started out hanging on grandpa until it was time for class to start and the parents were in one class and the kids were in another. It was like night and day. She was keeping up and even surpassing the other kids while skating to the other side. Who was this girl? Needless to say, she finished up the season and enjoyed herself.
Here are the videos of Izzy ice skating and Andrew came in at the end of the 3rd video for just a brief moment and a mini video for the 4th. Enjoy!
And there's Calvin enjoying being held by grandma. For some reason that day he must not have felt well because he's never really cuddly like that. But I have to admit it made it nice to be able to watch the other kids skating.
After our ice skating lessons that day, we took grandma and grandpa on the tour of Spokane Falls. It's so much more amazing in person.
And then we had to stop at the random wagon park. We'd stopped and played the week before and Alex was terrified to go down the slide. We'd even gotten Calvin to go but she still wouldn't budge and I wasn't up for climbing up there to help. This time she had grandpa there to help and she would only go down if grandpa was there to slide with her. I have to admit it is a pretty steep slide.
