Any of you heard of Shelfari?

The jury is still out in my family as to whether Shelfari has been a blessing or a curse.  (Jessica this is all your fault.=)
Glen and I got invited to join this bookshelf website.  You get to log all the books you've read, write reviews, and all sorts of fun stuff.  I started filling up my bookshelf which was lots of fun, then Glen started working on his.  Of course the kids see us doing something fun on the computer and ask, "Whatcha doin'?"  The idea of keeping a visual list of all the books we've read was very appealing to Andrew so he hopped right on board and started reading.  Later that day he came out with a pile of read books and asked if he could make his own shelf.  Sure, what parent isn't going to jump on a fun incentive to read.  That's when it all began.  Everyday he reads more and more books.  As wonderful as that is, the reading only creates a pile that needs to be logged in.  He's finally keeping his pile of read books on his real bookshelf so that he can log his books every few days.  Sometimes he does it himself and other times I turn into nice mommy because I feel sorry looking at the overwhelming pile and know he hasn't figured out the randomness of a keyboard yet.  Yesterday, Izzy asked for "a shelf on the computer like Andrew's."  Aaagghh!  We've created some monsters.  I do love it ... but I guess it's time to learn how to type.

(If you're interested, Andrew is up to 111 books (including a Magic Treehouse chapter book.  He finished that in 1 day) and Izzy is up to 21.)  Also, my shelf is at the bottom of this blog so you can see what I'm talking about.  I keep wanting to write a blog about some of the books that have changed my life, ... but that'll happen one of these days.

ha ha ha...you're welcome! lol. I actually love shelfari, cause I get great book read ideas from all my friends! I've just read some books, that I probably would have never heard of had I not seen it on a friends shelf.

Hey Jamie,
I can't see the text on your blog anymore. Just the photos...I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

I can read it now! Thanks for fixing it. Shelfari sounds cool. I kind of found the same type of site with "Good Reads," But I had to cut back on my computer time, so I gave it up awhile back:)

Oooh that is so cool! Yeah, Mindy's out of town for like the whole month so I have to cut back on my computer time too! I love the bookshelf idea. I really don't know the last book I've read though!?!

ANDREW!!!!! I saw your picture looking at the computer when my mommy was reading your mommy's blog. Wanna move next door to us? I MISS YOU!!! Mommy wants to get goats or cows. It's a lot of work - guess who feeds the chickens??? Yup, I do! But Sean helps - when he's not holding them and petting them - he likes the animals. Come visit your grandma and grandpa and stay long enough to have a sleepover at my house!!!!
MISS YOU and Izzy and Alex and Calvin too!
