Arts and Crafts--Jump right in

Izzy LOVES arts and crafts. She randomly found this turkey MONTHS ago in one of our craft books. I finally picked up marshmallows just for this project and the gumdrops were from Alex's birthday cake but we never got around to making it. The other day Izzy said, "Mom I think we have all the supplies, can I go ahead and make this?" Sure! Jump right in. So off she went, following the directions to a T and vwallah. You see here her beautiful turkey apple.
Gotta check out the backside.
Ingredients:
Marshmallow head
Chocolate chip eyes
Spaghetti sticks to hold in feathers--although we found we needed to use a toothpick to get the original hole in there. She wouldn't stand for just using toothpicks. It all had to be edible.
Carrot shreddings for side feathers and
Gumdrops for back feathers.

We've both learned that if she wants to be able to do her arts and crafts, there's probably not much point in waiting around for mom to be ready because there's always something else that needs to get done. She just needs to jump right in and I need to remember to just let her.
