We love watching the birds out our kitchen window. It's exciting when we spot a new bird and then we look it up to find out what we saw. We have lots of regulars including 2 cardinals and a blue jay plus the plethora of mourning doves, house finches (the males have red heads and grayish brown bodies), and house sparrows. We've seen a black crested titmouse twice, an osprey on our back fence (he was HUGE!!!) and now we have a new regular visitor but haven't been able to figure out what he is yet.
Anyways, this morning Alex was in the kitchen coloring when she

came out running saying, "I see a fee cardinal." A what? Sure enough, there was a female cardinal on our bird feeder. The male came and visited for a few minutes but not long enough for me to fetch my camera. We comment enough on these beautiful creatures, that my 3 year old has picked it up and can point out the difference. I love it!!!

What a smarty pants!
We have cardinals in our yard - it's the state bird you know. ;) Wanna come do some home school in Virginia this March? I need someone to take pity on me and come help find homes for things. ;)
Ian likes your birds - now he wants to build a feeder (b/c there aren't enough seeds out in the fields here?). :)
Off to recycle more papers/junk
Hey Lady,
I love seeing the kids get bigger. They are so smart. They are just like my kiddos. I love reading about all your homeschool adventures. You are my miss know it all on the homeschooling front. I know who to talk to if I have any questions. I hope you do try the Laundry soap. I was nervous about doing it at first too especially since I absolutely love my Gain=)but I finally did and I thought WHY did I wait so long to do this..its easy. Anyway keep checking up on us and hopefully I will be able to give more recipes and ideas for stuff like that. Love you and tell Glen that I must insist your next move is to Florida=)
