My sister-in-law sent me a great video about Proposition 8 a few months back. I watched the 30 min. video and since my firm belief that marriage should only be between a man and a woman and that our country will continue spiraling downhill if the courts rule otherwise, I was ready to march over to the polls (when the day of voting comes) so I could vote YES on Proposition 8. Then I realized this was only a vote for those living in California. So what can I do about it? That's why I'm adding it to my blog. If any of you have family members or friends living in California, please pass this video to them. Watch it all the way through, but be cautious with your little ones around. I wouldn't want my kids seeing two men kissing, etc. and I'm sure you don't either. Pass it on.

As an adoption advocate, I didn't realize the effect voting no on 8 would have on LDS Family Services adoptions. It's already happening in some places: religious agencies will be forced to accept gay couples, or will be put out of business. Click on this link for more info.
Did you know or have you heard of Ammendment 2 in Florida? This from what I know will be on our ballot at election time. This is an ammendment to define marriage as between a Man and a woman and no other. Interestingly enough incase you did not know Barack Obama is actually for this ammendment meaning he does not want marriage to be defined as anything but between a man and a woman. I always thought that he would be pro-gay no matter what! The time is coming when our vote is going to count...and if ever there was a time it is now. Vote YES on Ammendment 2 in Florida!Pass this on to anyone else you know in Florida.Marriage should be defined as between a man and a woman only. Our vote counts!
I'm from CA, my family is working double time on this thing, along with mass LDS members and other Christian groups. It's incredible how people are coming together. They did it before when it was on the ballot years ago. I really didn't have any hope that it will pass, since I also have very liberal friends who keep me posted on how things are going on "that side". I almost felt like you can't stop the tide, and the tide is liberal. But in recent weeks, while watching so many people from all other states, rally behind conservative Californians, and do all in their power to support and help, I feel a lot more hope that this could have a good outcome after all.
